"On Silent," 18x23, mixed media

ON SILENT

Above my desk I have a Brian Andreas quote which reads:

"Is willing to accept that she creates her own reality. Except for some of the parts where she can't help but wonder what the hell she was thinking."

My winter self portrait and the "help" that can be seen in the midst of "On Silent" may be just that wondering. I was quite honored recently to win the Devines in the Pines award for "On Silent" in the 31st Annual Michigan Artist Competition.. hanks for sharing the article, and more importantly, your personal experience of mindfully using our emotions as data about our inner state and knowing when it’s better to de-escalate by taking a time out are great tools.
