Join Mark Mehaffey for two days of plein air painting instruction. Not a traditional plein air artist? No problem, Jessica Kovan will be painting along side using mixed media techniques. Imagine two special days of gathering, creating, and growing in art and friendships. We'll come together at the end of each day to share stories and enjoy the happy hour. Come nourish yourself in art and nature and community. LODGING - Lodging is available at the Orchard in our guesthouse if you'd like! Feel free to arrive Thursday evening and stay through Sunday. Hope and Healing: Climate Art Journaling Workshop Oliver Art Center Frankfort MI Oct 18, 2025 10am-3pm "Art is the highest form of hope." - Gerhard Richter Artist Jessica Kovan leads this creative and reflective workshop using journaling and artmaking to process emotions related to climate change and actions to heal and move forward in these chaotic times. This workshop provides a safe space for self-reflection and creative expression, helping participants connect with their emotions and explore ways to cope with climate anxiety. Students should bring their favorite journal to work in; all other materials will be supplied. We will work with colored pencils, watercolors, pen, and paper to create from the heart. Bring a bag lunch and join us in this creative and cathartic workshop!
