Art in the Orchard - June Retreat w/ Amy D'Apice

Rogers Rd, Beulah MI 49617 COST - Workshop - $395 (breakfast, lunch & happy hour included) We are thrilled to bring Amy D'Apice to the Orchards! If you don't know Amy, we have a treat for you. A spitball of energy and fun and an amazing instructor. She spends 9 months in Thailand each year and comes to the states in the summer to teach. And we convinced her to make northern Michigan a stop! About the workshop: It’s been said that drawing and painting are products of what we see…AND what we know to do. This unique workshop will bring these two ideas together in one unique format. Over the course of our time together, we will make art in two classrooms-both indoors and out. In the first part of our days, students will sketch out in the wild, interpreting what is seen and recording the lines, shapes, and textures of both landscape and man-made structures. The afternoon sessions take us back into the studio, using our drawings as the source material for new and exciting pieces created in various media and vivid color. LODGING - Lodging is available at the Orchard in our guesthouse if you'd like! Feel free to arrive Thursday evening and stay through Sunday. Continental breakfast included. $125/night. Fall in northern Michigan shouldn't be missed. Join Mark Mehaffey and myself (your choice: plein air or mixed media) in a special two days of gathering, creating, and growing in art and friendships. We'll come together at the end of each day to share stories and enjoy the happy hour. Come nourish yourself in art and nature and community.
